herent property of an object of virtue of which it doesn't changes its position by itself is called inertia of a body , measure of an object's inertia is the measure of mass of an object.
larger the mass has larger the inertia and smaller the mass has more inertia
mark me as brilliant !!

, inertia is the property of a body to continue in its state of rest or uniform motion even when an external force is applied. It is of three types:-

1) Inertia of rest: When we are sitting in a bus at rest and the bus suddenly starts moving, we are pushed     backwards due to inertia of rest.

2) Inertia of Motion: When we are in a moving bus and the bus suddenly comes to a halt, we are thrown forwards due to inertia of motion.

3) Inertia of Direction: While in a moving vehicle, when the vehicle suddenly takes a left/right turn, we are pushed in the opposite direction due to inertia of direction.

___________

It is the measure of mass i.e. heavier the body more will be the inertia it offers. So the mass and inertia offered by body are directly proportional.
