inertai is the tendency of an object to resist its state of rest or motion mass determine the amount of inertia suppose a truck standing in road you aply a force of 1 newton on it but will not move but if yiu will do the same with 1 kg box it will move why this happen s because truck has higher mass then box so the truck will have more inertia it means the truck if at rest it want to be in rest more than box thats how mass related you can ask me if you have any confusion

inertia
----------
the tendency of an object to remain at rest or in a uniform motion in a straight line on a frictionless surface unless and until compelled by external force !!

inertia depends on

1. mass

2. velocity

inertia is directly proptional to mass and velocity

as the mass of the body increases its inertia also increases!!

hope helped!!
