What is inertia ? what are the types of inertia
Answers
Explanation:
Inertia is the tendency of an object to resist changes in its state of rest or motion.
Different types of inertia are:
1. The inertia of Rest: The inability of a body to change by itself its state of rest is called inertia of rest.
Example: A person sitting in a car falls backwards when the car starts. As the lower portion of the car comes in motion where as the upper part tries to remain at rest because of inertia of rest.
2. The inertia of Motion: The inability of the body to change by itself its state of motion is called inertia of motion.
Example: A person sitting in a cars falls forward when the car applies break. As the lower portion of the car comes to rest and upper part remains in motion because of inertia of motion.
3. The inertia of Direction: The inability of a body to change by itself its direction of motion.
Examples: When a car moves round a curve the person sitting inside is thrown outwards to maintain his direction of motion due to the inertia of motion
Answer:
If a body is at rest it will be at rest until any external force is applied and if the body is in motion then it will be in motion until any external force is applied this tendency of an object is known as inertia.
two types of inertia are rest inertia and motion inertia
