Inertia is the resistance of any physical object to any change in its state of motion; this includes changes to its speed, direction or state of rest. It is the tendency of objects to keep moving in a straight line at constant velocity.

Here is the answer to your question!!

Inertia is the property of the body by virtue of which it opposes any change in its state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line.

Mass is a measure of Inertia.

Larger the mass, greater is the inertia.

Inertia of rest :

Due to this inertia, the body at rest tends to remain at rest.

Inertia of Motion :

Due to this inertia, a body in uniform motion tends to continue it's motion

Hope it helped!!
