The reasons for low IMR are:-
- War- Due to war many children were killed or died due to acute food shortages.
- Gender favoritism- In India, people think that having a girl child is a burden,so if a girl child is born she killed.
- Medical treatment- In earlier days, due to poor medical support many children died before completing one year of age.
- Environmental- In the world, due to increasing level of pollution, babies died due to various pollutants and diseases.
