Innate immunity is non specific type of defence that is present at the time of birth

it is of following types

1) physical barrier- it includes skin, mucus coating of epithelium

2) physiological barrier- acid in stomach, Saliva,tears all act as physiological barrier

3) cellular barrier- it includes leukocytes, monocytes, lymphocytes etc

4) cytokine barrier - it includes interferon which is a protein secreted by infected cell to protect other cell
