Instantaneous velocity:

It is the velocity of a particle for a particular instant of time. It cannot be measured directly as anything cannot be done instantly.

Formula for instantaneous velocity is given by

velocity = dx/ dt.

The given expression can also be used:

velocity = ∆x/∆t Lim. ∆x tends to zero.

The above expression means that change in position (∆x) is extremely small.
