What are reserved constituency:
Reserved constituency simply mean a constituency reserved for a particular social group.
In present 119 constituencies are reserved for scheduled castes(SC) and scheduled tribes(ST),out of which 78 constituencies for scheduled castes and 41 constituencies for scheduled tribes depending on their proportion in population.
Women reservation bill is still pending in Lok sabha according to which 33% constituencies will be reserve for women in Lok sabha as well as in state assemblies.
