Explanation:

RAM (Random Access Memory) is an internal memory device which temporarily holds data and instructions while processing is happening. If the CPU is the “brain” of the computer, then RAM is the “working memory” or "thinking memory" used to store data just for the programmes and applications being used at that time.

There are two types of internal memory

1) RAM- Ransom access memory is a type of computer internal memory that can be accessed randomly. Whatever information we enter into the computer goes into RAM and remains there as long as we are working on an application. It is a volatile memory as data and instructions are stored temporarily during it's processing and lost forever when the computer is switched off.

2)ROM- Read only memory is a type of memory that can only read information as compared to RAM which can be both read and written. It is a non volatile memory as it stores information permanently. Data stored in Roman can neither be modified nor removed. It is use in booting process. It is the initial program to start the computer when the power is switched off.
