Answer:

The process of watering the crops is called irrigation. Two methods of irrigation are: (i) Sprinkler system : This system is used on the uneven land where less water is available. ... (ii) Drip irrigation: This system is used to save water as it allows the water to flow drop by drop at the roots of the plants

Answer:

Irrigation is the supply of water to crop plants at regular intervals to meet their need for water which is not fulfilled by rainwater alone.

The drip irrigation system includes dripping the water at the soil near plant roots at very low rates using a system of narrow plastic pipes having emitters or drippers at regular intervals. Being an economical method, it is mostly practiced in areas of water scarcity.

Sprinkler irrigation system uses a system of pipes wherein perpendicular pipes with rotating nozzles at the top are joined to the main pipeline. It sprays the water on the crop in form of artificial rains.
