An isomer of a molecule has the same number of atoms of each element, but has a different arrangement of the atoms. It has the same molecular formula as the other molecule, but with a different chemical structure.
example
Butane and isobutane have the same number of carbon (C) atoms and hydrogen (H) atoms, so their molecular formulas are the same. However, each one has a different structural formula, which shows how the atoms are arranged. So we can say that butane and isobutane are structural isomers.

Molecules having same molecular formula, but different molecular structure is known as And this phenomena is known as Isomerism.
CH3CH2OH and CH3OCH3 have same molecular formula but different structure.
There are two types of Isomers :-
1) Structural Isomers.
2) Stereoisomers.
