Answer:

Isobars are those elements which have a different atomic number but same mass number. for example iron and nickel (both have same mass number which is 58 whereas the atomic number of iron is 26 and atomic number of nickel is 28.

Isotopes are those elements which have same atomic number but different mass number. for example hydrogen : There are three isotopes of hydrogen and these are protium, deuterium, and tritium. All three of them have the same number of protons, but the numbers of neutrons differ. In protium the number of neutrons is zero, in deuterium, it is one and in tritium, the number of neutrons is two.

Answer:

Here is your answer

  • Isotopes:- Atoms having the same number of proton but different number of neutron are called Isotopes.

example \: \frac{1}{1}H(hydrogen)

 \frac{2}{1} H(deutrium) \: \frac{3}{1} H(tritium)

Above deuterium & tritium are Isotopes of Hydrogen.

  • Isobars:- The atoms having Same mass number (A) are called Isobars.

example.. \frac{3}{1} H and \: \frac{3}{2} He

Above Hydrogen & Helium are Isobars of each other as Same number of mass number .
