the atoms of the same element, having the same atomic number but different mass number is called isotopes.

Isotopes are atoms with different Mass number but same atomic number.....

This means they are actually the same element in different form ....

Their chemical properties are similar as they have same no. of elecrons....

They only differ in no. of neutrons....


Eg. ---> C12 & C14
