Answer:

isotopes :- isotopes are the atoms of same element having same atomic no. but different mass no .

example - ¹H ²H ³H -the powers denote the mass no.

these are the isotopes of hydrogen..

was not ble to write the atomic no .as it doesn't have the option for subscript

All the isotopes of hydrogen have same atomic no. which is 1

mass no.1 = Protium

mass no. 2= Deuterium

mass no 3= tritium

Isobars - Atoms of different elements having same mass no. but different atomic no.

example - argon and calcium

both of them have 40 mass no .and different atomic no .

Atomic no. = No. of protons present in an atom .

mass no = no. of protons +no of neutrons

Explanation:

Isotopes:- Same atomic number but different mass number. Example- C−12,C−14. Isobars:- Isobars are atoms of different elements having same mass number. These have equal number of nucleons but different number of protons, neutrons and electrons.

Isobars- are atoms (nuclides) of different chemical elements that have the same number of nucleons. Correspondingly, isobars differ in atomic number (or number of protons) but have the same mass number. An example of a series of isobars would be 40S, 40Cl, 40Ar, 40K, and 40Ca. While the nuclei of these nuclides all contain 40 nucleons, they contain varying numbers of protons and neutrons.
