Explanation:

Light acts as wave and as particle both, simultaneously. So, when it changes a medium,(air to lens or lens to back in air),i.e,the density of surrounding has changed thus, due to its wave nature,it changes its path of motion or propagation, which is the property of a wave.

Note:This explanation may be difficult to understand but if you are 11th standard(or 12th) you should really understand this.

Answer:

Refraction is the bending of light (it also happens with sound, water and other waves) as it passes from one transparent substance into another. This bending by refraction makes it possible for us to have lenses, magnifying glasses, prisms and rainbows

Explanation:

Refraction. Light waves change speed when they pass across the boundary between two substances with a different density , such as air and glass. This causes them to change direction, an effect called refraction .
