What is it with an average thickness of 1 to 60 km?

The thickness of the earth’s crust varies from place to place. As you must be knowing there is continental and oceanic crust; where former having more thickness than the latter. Continental crust on an average has a thickness of 0–35 km but at some place may extend to 90km. The oceanic crust never exceeds the thickness from 10km at most places.
