Java is one of the programming langauges.
It is a machine independent language thats mean u can write code in one machine n run it on another bt JDK should be installed on that machine where u want to run ur code...
u can make standalone application ie,desktop application
u can make dynamic website bt for this application u have a knowledge of servlet and jsp..bt java is core for ths application.
