jet stream is swiftly blowing wind at the height of 3 to 5 km, above the subtropical high pressure belt . Himalayas act as a barrier in their path so they get divided into westerly and easterly jet streams . the westerly jet streams are responsible for western disturbance at north-west India and Pakistan which results as winter rainfall , and the easterly jet stream is responsible for bringing the tropical depression over India and Bangladesh which play an important role in rain distribution of India and Bangladesh .
