  • JUDICIAL ACTIVISM MEANS EXTENDING THE JUDICIAL ARMS INTO THE AREAS RESERVED FOR THE OTHER TWO ORGANS OF STATE THE LEGISLATURE AND THE EXECUTIVE.

CAUSES RESPONSIBLE FOR JUDICIAL ACTIVISM;

1. Failure of the other two organs of state.

2. Public interest litigation (PIL):judicial activism expanded mainly because of public interest litigation.

ᴘɪʟ ᴅᴇᴍᴏᴄʀᴀᴛɪsᴇᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ᴊᴜᴅɪᴄɪᴀʟ sʏsᴛᴇᴍ means the poor man's have neither the money not an attitude to approach the court of law. In view of these realities the supreme court relax the rule of ʟᴏᴄᴜs sᴛᴀɴᴅɪ.

According to the change rule any public spirited individual or institution can move the court on behalf of the poor and exploited and oppressed.
