Kanishka was the emperor of Kushan dynasty in the second century ( c.127-150 CE). He is famous for his military, political and spiritual achievements. He ruled over the northern part of indian subcontinent, Afghanistan,and possibly areas of Central Asia north of the Kashmir region. He worked for the preaching of Buddhism. Due to his work , he is often called as 'Second Ashoka'. He is considered to be the most significant and important ruler of the Kushan dynasty.
