It's a kind of deer with a sweet smelling substance attached to it's navel. The deer doesn't know that the sweet smell is coming from his own navel and goes around the forest searching for it. It forgets to look at himself just like we humans look for God in temples and idols when we should instead know that God is within ourselves.
