The Indian cropping season is classified into two main seasons-(i)Kharif and (ii) Rabi based on the monsoon. The kharif cropping seasonis from July –October during the south-west monsoon and the Rabicropping season is from October-March (winter). Kharif season is the season in which crops grow from july to October during the south west monsoon.
Rabi season is the season in which crops grow from October to march.
