Kharif crops first letter (K) means Kambal which we use like blanket in summer... So the crops of summer.....

Rabi crops first letter (R) means rajai which we use in winters.... So the crops of winter...

The crops Which are grown during rainy season are called kharif crops. kharif crops are also called summer crops. paddy, Maize, Groundnut are some examples of kharif crops.

The crops Which are grown during winters are called Rabi crops.This is why Rabi crops are also called winter crops. Wheat, Gram, Barley are Rabi crops
