The energy of an object in motion is called K.E.
Now you think that momentum is also an energy of object related to its motion.
But there are a huge difference between K.E and momentum:
First difference between momentum and K.E is that momentum is a vector quantity and K.E is a scalarquantity.
And the second one, the big, the main and the theoratical difference between momentum and K.E is that which i explain below:
This difference can be understand by a simple example. Let assume an object of 1 kg mass and having speed of 0.01 mps and the other one object of 0.1 kg and having speed of 1 mps. Now assume that these two objects hit your body. Now tell me that which object hurts you. The first one or the second one? This thing is called momentum.
Then what is K.E? K.E tells us that how much the object have energy to move further.
These are the simple difference between K.E and momentum.
