 \huge{\bf{\red{KINETIC\: ENERGY}}}

We know that a moving object such as a moving bullet the blowing wind, a rotating wheel and a speeding stone can do work. Objects in motion possess energy. This energy is called kinetic energy. Thus, we can define kinetic energy as,

 "The \:energy\: of \:an \:object\: due\: to\: its \:motion\:

 is \:known \:as \:kinetic energy."

In other words, the kinetic energy is the energy possessed by an object by virtue of its motion. A falling coconut, a speeding car, a running athlete etc. possess kinetic energy . Other examples include a rolling stone, a flying aircraft, flowing water, blowing wind, a fast moving pebble that can injure a person or break the glass pane of a window, energy of a moving vehicle, a fast moving wind can damage many houses, or a wind that can move blades of wind mill. In other words, we can say that anything which moves has kinetic energy. The SI unit of kinetic energy is joule (J).
