Kinship is the blood relationship one individual has with another. It is not based on distance, usually.

A family can be seperated across countries and yet be kin!

Nearness of relationship in this aspect can be related on how close an individual is related to another in the nexus of their social relations, that is, to say if they’re distanced relatives or very close relatives, springing from the same family tree.
