The reaction between an acid and a base to give salt and water is known as neutralization reaction.

Example - NaOH + HCl= NaCl + H2O

In chemistry neutralization or neutralisation is a chemical reaction in which an acid and base react quantitatively with each other.In a reactionin water , neutralization results in there being no excess of hydrogen or hydroxide ion's presents in the solution.
