The objective resolution was passed by Jawaharlal Nehru in 1946. It laid down the basic principles and the ideas on which the Indian constitution has to be made by the assembly. It was the objective resolution that gives institutional expression to the fundamental commitments that are equality sovereignty and liberty.

The 'objective resolution' is the basic principles and the ideas on which the Indian constitution has to be made by the assembly that give institutional expression to the fundamental commitments that is "equality, sovereignty and liberty".It leads to the fundamentals and philosophy of the constitutional structure.

It was made by pt.Jwahar lal Nehru in 1946.

The objective resolution says about :-

  • India should be a Democratic, Sovereign and Republic state & Indians must respect this law .

  • It consist the basic principles of federalism of Indian Constitution .

  • People of India should enjoy basic liberties such as free to express, free to form associations, free to worship etc which made Indian culture the good culture.

  • The provision of constitutional safeguards, and also to promote socially and educationally backward classes & tribals to increase thier social status .

  • All the citizens are treated equally without any discrimination,disrespect etc.
