Laminar Flow :-

  • In this type of flow fluid particles goes along well defined streamlines. Those lines may be straight or parallel.

  • Magnitude may be differentiate at different Velocity points.

  • Direction will always be parallel.

  • As the direction is parallel so layers will smoothly slide over the adjacent layer.

Turbulent Flow :-

  • It is an irregular flow and in this particles move in zig-zag direction.

  • There will eddy formation due to the zig-zag way.

  • There will be very high energy loss due to the formation of eddy formation.

Answer:

Laminar flow or streamline flow in pipes (or tubes) occurs when a fluid flows in parallel layers, with no disruption between the layer.

Turbulent flow is a flow regime characterized by chaotic property changes. This includes rapid variation of pressure and flow velocity in space and time .

hope it helps
