Land degradation is a process in which the value of the biophysical environment is affected by a combination of human-induced processes acting upon the land. It is viewed as any change or disturbance to the land perceived to be deleterious or undesirable.

Land degradation is a process in which the value of the environment is affected by a human processes acting upon the land.

The factors which affect land degradation are

(i) over gazing : goats, cows and other animals eat grasses due to which their is less growth of species and other herbs because of this soil lose its fertility.

(ii) Indralisation : there are many factories in country and many more is situating in the place of land so it is also a factor resulting in land degradation

(iii) Deforestation :is taking place at a faster rate due to increasing demands of timber, fuel and forest products which results into degradation of land resources.

(iv) Urbanisation : There is rapid growth of houses in the place of fields which makes the soil abundant

(v) Agriculture practises : Today there is excess use of fertilisers and pesticides which also contributing in land degradation. ...
