Land rotation (not to be confused with crop rotation) is a form of shifting cultivation where a piece of land is used for agriculture for several years before it is left fallow for several years to regenerate the soil fertility.

- Land rotation is a system of farming.
- In this, a piece of land is cultivated by farmers for sometimes. This is also left to clear a new land at the time when the old land becomes less fertile.
- Land rotation helps to check the spread disease and pests.
- Large scale of farming is not encouraged by it.
- This kind of farming destroys virgin forest and needs lots of time.
