India followed language poilicy in which no language is given or declared as a national language.

Hindi is considered as a official language a it is spoken by about 40 percent of the total population of the country.

There are 21 other languages in India which are recognized as sheduled languages.

For example a candidate in examination at central level can choose any language as the medium of answering.
