The latent heat of vapouriztion of a liquid is the quantity of heat in joules required to convert 1kg of the liquid (at its boiling point) to vapour or gas,
without any change in temperature at atmospheric pressure.

Hey friend!

The amount of heat energy that is absorbed by 1kg liquid at it's boiling point under a given atmospheric pressure to convert into 1kg of vapour is known as latent heat of vaporisation.

The value of latent heat of vaporisation in CGS system is 537 cal/g
The value of latent heat of vaporisation in SI system is 2•2554×10^6 J/kg

Thank you!
