Lateral inversion is a property of a plane mirror in which the left side of the object appears to be on the right side in the mirror and the right side of the object appears to be on the left side of the object in the mirror.

Example : When we stand after the mirror, and raise our right hand , the image formed in the mirror shows that the left hand is being raised and vice versa.
