The law of conservation of energy states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed - only converted from one form of energy to another. This means that a system always has the same amount of energy, unless it's added from the outside. The only way to use energy is to transform energy from one form to another.

eg : Ball,mass,m,height,h,above the ground

Potential energy =mgh

As ball falls,its potential energy will change into kinetic energy.

As the ball continues to fall,the potential energy would decrease while its kinetic energy will increase.

When the object is about to reach the ground,h=0 and v will be highest.

Therefore the kinetic energy would be largest and potential energy will be least.

Potential energy+ Kinetic energy = constant

The energy of a freely falling ball is conserved.

eg : radiant energy from the Sun is not lost but transformed into other forms of energy.

Energy can never remain stored forever in any substance or living thing.
