Answer:

A lens maker formula may be defined as the formula which gives the relationship for calculating focal length(f) in term of Radii of the two curvatures of lens that is R1 and R2 and the refractive index of lens and surrounding.

Lens Maker's Formula  :-

1 / f = ( n - 1 ) [ ( 1 / R1 ) - ( 1 / R2 ) ]

Explanation:

Using the positive optical sign convention, the lens maker's formula states :

1 / f = (n-1) [(1/R1) - (1/R2)]

where f is the focal length, n is the index of refraction, and  and  are the radii of curvature of the two sides of the lens.
