1. The best use of lens is our eyes. Our each eye has got biconvex lens, however it has got self focusing abilities which will not be in case of man-made lenses(there might be some invention.. but sorry i am not aware of it).  

2.  lens are used in cameras, telescopes, microscopes, optical eye wears for visual disorders(correction glasses).

3. They are used in front and back lighting systems of vehicals.
