Liberalism is a political and moral philosophy based on liberty and equality.Liberals espouse a wide array of views depending on their understanding of these principles, but they generally support civil rights, democracy, secularism, gender equality, racial equality, internationalism, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, and free markets.

liberalism (liberal means ' free')

Liberalism

For the new middle classes liberalism stood for freedom for individual and Equality of all before the law.

Politically,it stands for end of autocracy and clerical privileges,a constitution and representative government through parliament .

Liberalism also stood for the freedom of markets and abolition of state imposed restrication on the movement of goods and capital.
