what is ligament ??
Answers
A ligament is the fibrous connective tissue that connects bones to other bones. It is also known as articular ligament, articular larua, fibrous ligament, or true ligament. Other ligaments in the body include the: Peritoneal ligament: a fold of peritoneum or other membranes.
➢ Ligament
- The ligament is composed of dense connective tissue.
➢ Classification
The extra-capsular ligament located around the joint cavity. Located joint cavity , said in the capsule ligament. Located on the joint capsule, the thickened part of the joint capsule fiber layer is called the joint capsule ligament. Another type of ligament is formed by peritoneal folds, which are formed by the migration between the peritoneal wall and the visceral layer or between the peritoneal visceral and visceral layers. This ligament is formed by a single layer of peritoneum, and some is formed by a double layer of peritoneum.
➢ Ligament injury
Ligaments are thickened parts of the fibrous joint capsule, but some are separated from the joint capsule. Violence can cause damage, and the lightest is a sprained ligament. The ligament is caused by excessive stretching or partial fiber breakage. It is characterized by pain, tenderness, different degrees of swelling, and limited activity. X-ray examination found no abnormalities, and the most serious cases were ligament rupture, sometimes with sprained joints, avulsed fractures or joint dislocations. Manifested as pain, obvious swelling, congestion, joint effusion or hematoma, and apparently restricted movement. X-ray film showed uneven width of joint cavity. Ligament strain can use local braking, physical therapy or closure. Complete ligament rupture generally requires surgical treatment, and some fresh closed fractures can be treated with plaster fixation.
