What is light? Name some sources of light?
Answers
Light is electromagnetic radiation within a certain portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. The word usually refers to visible light, which is the visible spectrum that is visible to the human eye and is responsible for the sense of sight.
Natural sources of light include the sun, stars, fire, and electricity in storms. There are even some animals and plants that can create their own light, such as fireflies, jellyfish, and mushrooms. This is called bioluminescence. Artificial light is created by humans.

The sources of light refers to the object that emit light. These may be natural or artificial.
The natural sources of light at provided by nature. The sun is the main and the brightest natural source of light. It is the most important source of light. Although it is about 150 million kilometres away from the earth, it gives light to us during the daytime.
The stars which we see during the night are also natural sources of light. As they are very far away, they are not able to give sufficient light to the earth. Hence, we receive very little light from them.
The firefly also known as Jugnu, is also a natural source of light. The light received from it is very faint and we can't see much just by its light.
Some fish also emit light.
The artificial sources of light are the ones made by man, e.g. a bulb, a tube light, a torch, a candle, etc. At night, we do not receive light from the main natural source, i.e. the sun, so we need the artificial sources of light.
