According to dictionary definition it is "something that makes things visible or affords illumination.
But physicists define light as electromagnetic radiation - a traveling energy wave.
Speed of light in vaccum is 299,792,458m/s (approx 3 × 10^8)

Light is a form of energy which enables us to see things (around us).
The speed of light in air is 300000000 m/s or 3×10^8 m/s.
