light year- the distance travelled in vacuum by light-waves in one year is called one light year. the speed of light in vacuum is 3×10^8 m/s and there are 365 days in one year therefore
1 light year= sped of light× second in one year
=3×10^8 × 365×24×60×60
=9.461×10^15 m
