What is lightning conducter? How does lightning conducter prevent damage to building during lightning?

Answer:

lightning conductor is a metal rod attached to the top of the building.the other end of the rod is connected  to earth.when lightning strikes the rod(as it is higher)it goes to the ground.thus protecting it.
