Answer:

The causes of friction are molecular adhesion, surface roughness and the ploughing effect. Every object has a rough surface, though the surface may appear to be smooth to the naked eye. But when we observe through a microscope, we find that the surfaces of all the objects have rough edges.

Objects moving through fluids such as air or water also encounter frictional forces which reduce their motion. This is known as drag. Friction prevents objects from moving or slows them down. It also causes wear on surfaces as they rub against each other and generates heat.

1)Friction can be reduced by making the surface smooth by polishing.

2)Friction can be reduced by applying lubricants (like oil or grease) to the rubbing surface.

3)Friction can be reduced by using wheels to move objects.

4)Friction can be reduced by using ball bearing between the moving parts of machine.

hope it helps you!!!

Answer:

Friction is the force that stood of the moving object.roughness of surface ca causes friction. friction is more when roughness of the surface is more. smooth surfaces have very less friction. it can also be caused by bumps on two touching surfaces. Rubber has a lot of friction.
