What is limiting friction ? How can we say that it's value is self adjusted ?
Answers
When that body overcomes the force of static friction , the maximum value of static friction is reached -which is known as limiting friction. It is known as self adjusting force because neither it has fixed magnitude nor direction. It adjusts according to the applied force.

☞The maximum friction that can be generated between two static surfaces in contact with each other. Once a force applied to the two surfaces exceeds the limiting friction, motion will occur. For two dry surfaces, the limiting friction is a product of the normal reaction force and the coefficient of limiting friction....♥

☞We know static friction is equal to applied force till body remains in static position. It adjust it's value according to applied force so, we can say static friction force is self adjustable......♥
