Hey,

It’s like any other liquid except that it is metal. Mercury is the only metal that is liquid at room temperature, although gallium and cesium would be liquid on a hot day. A liquid metal, such as mercury, has certain unique uses, such as for barometers, thermometers, tilt switches, etc. In fact, it is a shame that mercury is so very poisonous, since there are some uses for which only mercury will do. There is an alloy called gallistan, which is liquid at room temperature, but it is a poor substitute for mercury for several reasons.

liquid metal consists of alloys with very low melting points which form a eutectic what is liquid at room temperature .
