Answer:

Litmus: A pigment used as a test for acidity and alkalinity. Litmus paper turns red in acid and blue in an alkaline solution. Litmus is prepared from lichens like Roccella tinctoria. Figuratively, a litmus test is a decision in which a single factor is the determinant.

Answer:

:✴️Litmus & natural dye : Litmus in the form of solution or in the form of dried paper strips is the most commonly used indicator. The dye is extracted from lichen plants. If strips of paper thin are soaked in red litmus solution, it is commonly called red litmus paper & if strips of paper are soaked in blue litmus solution, it is commonly called blue litmus paper. If red litmus paper changes to blue colour, the solution is basic in nature. If blue litmus paper changes to red colour the solution is acidic in nature.
