Litmus paper is a filter paper we treat with a natural-soluble dye that the lichens provide us. The piece of paper that gives the result that is referred to as litmus paper can come in use as a pH indicating tool.

  • Dip red litmus paper into these three solution . One of them will change the colour of red litmus to blue , then it is a base. Out of it remaining two will not change the color of red litmus paper . So the two can be acidic or water . Now dip changed litmus (blue litmus) into remaining two , one of them will change blue litmus into red ,then it is acidic and the last one is water ( neutral).
