Local self-government in India refers to governmental jurisdictions below the level of the state. India is a federal republic with three spheres of government: central, state and local. 
It has zilla parishads. local ruler govt.


Local Self-Government is the management of local affairs by such local bodies who have been elected by the local people. These local bodies provide services to the local community as well as acts as an instrument of democratic self government
