A chronic disease is one that (a) sticks with you for a VERY long time, or (b) keeps coming back. So if someone has chronic bronchitis, it means they have bronchitis for more than a week or two or they'll have it for a while and then they'll get it again a few weeks later, then it'll go away again, then it'll come back a few weeks later -- get the idea?

The major problem with a chronic disease is treatment. In many cases it involves changing medication every few months, but it could also involve surgery or other unpleasant treatments like steroids or chemotherapy. Not fun...

It is an ailment that was last for long time,even after prolonged treatment often lasting a lifeline are long term disease or chronic disease.
EXAMPLE:- TB due to prolonged infection the patients losses weight.
